The Audubon Arkansas society now has a field office open on 101 N. Locust Ave. in Fayetteville. The office, a first for Northwest Arkansas, was opened after the society received a $260,000 grant from the Arkansas Soil and Water Commission in July. The location was chosen to support the new healthy watershed initiatives on the West Fork of the White River. The goal of the project is to retain community involvement from citizens and government officials to coordinate a watershed group and help create a watershed plan. The grant also provides funds for conservation assistant Melissa Terry, who was hired to oversee the project.r
