Northwest Health System is promoting its three are hospitals in an advertising campaign that includes a direct-mail blitz.r

Promoting Willow Creek Women’s Hospital in Johnson, Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville and Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale, the multifaceted direct-mail campaign touts the physicians and facilities at the three hospitals. And, the campaign encourages potential patients to check out Northwest’s Internet site to see if their insurance plan includes access to Northwest Health System.r

Tami Hutchison, vice president of Northwest Health System, said the campaign was launched in the fall when employers are considering health care insurance renewals for their employees. The true test of its effectiveness won’t be known until next year, but Hutchison said, the hospital system has already heard from several employers who are considering plans that include the Northwest Health System. r

“To date, we’re very very pleased with the results,” Hutchison said. r

The hospital system targeted 50,000 Northwest Arkansas households with the direct-mail campaign that ran from mid-September through mid-October, Hutchison said. r

A total of six different brochures and post card-type mail outs were sent, but Hutchison said that some households received only some of them. Households that might need obstetric care, for example, received the advertising mail-out about obstetrics, she said. r

Banowetz & Company, an advertising agency based in Dallas, produced the campaign. Hutchison declined to say how much Northwest Health System spent on the campaign.r
