Regionals Financial Corp., the publicly traded Birmingham, Ala., firm, will officially make its first foray into Washington County at 9 a.m. on Sept. 17 when it breaks ground on a new, 20,000-SF financial center on Joyce Boulevard in Fayetteville.

Jerry Vest, Region’s local president, said the two-story facility will include a full service banking operation plus the cadre of financial services offered through Region’s partnerships with Rebsman Insurance and Morgan Keegan Co.

Regions plans to use its existing mortgage loan facility on Joyce Boulevard as a temporary full-service branch until the new one is built. The bank owned about eight acres at the site but has sold the back half of their lots.

Nabholz Construction Co. has already won the contract to build the new facility.
