D-G Bumps Johnny Cash Story Inside (Outtakes Opinion)

We were a little surprised to see the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette didn’t run a story about the death of Johnny Cash on Page 1.r

After all, the “Man in Black” is an Arkansas native. He was born in Cleveland County and grew up in Dyess in Mississippi County. He died on Sept. 12 from diabetes complications at the age of 71.r

On Sept. 13, the D-G did publish a small photo of Cash at the bottom of Page 1 referring to a story about his death on Page 2, but frankly that just wasn’t enough.r

As Rolling Stone magazine said, Cash’s “five-decade career defined and refined American music.” r

We were a little surprised to see the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette didn’t run a story about the death of Johnny Cash on Page 1.
