Pacific Sunwear To Open in Mall

Pacific Sunwear will open a store in Fayetteville’s Northwest Arkansas Mall by October, said Alice Church, the mall manager.
The PacSun store will occupy a 4,241-SF space that was home to Foot Action, a shoe store that closed in June.
“We felt like this was something unique, and it would definitely fit in with our merchandise mix,” Church said.
Based in Anaheim, Calif., Pacific Sunwear started in 1980 as a small surf shop. Now, the company has more than 787 Pacific Sunwear stores and 71 Pacific Sunwear outlet stores in 48 states and Puerto Rico.
Pacific Sunwear had $846.4 million in net sales for the fiscal year that ended Feb. 2. That’s an increase of 23.6 percent, or $161.6 million, over the previous fiscal year. The company plans to open 75 new stores in the current fiscal year, according to its annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
