Donna Lonchar will take over as Fayetteville metro editor at The Morning News this August when Charlie Alison leaves that job to finish his master’s degree in journalism at the University of Arkansas.

Lonchar, 48, has worked for The Morning News for eight years as a copy editor and news editor. She spent nine years as assistant news editor at the Orange County Register in suburban Los Angeles.

John Gore will become The Morning News’ Springdale metro editor, replacing Thomas Sissom, who was promoted to editorial page editor.

Gore has been a reporter for The Morning News for the past three years. Previously, he spent eight years working for the Tyler Morning Telegraph in Tyler, Texas. He also worked for the Paragould Daily Press and Northwest Arkansas Times in Fayetteville.
