West Corp. will close its outbound telemarketing office in Fayetteville on Aug. 1.

Carol Padon, vice president of investor relations and public relations for the Omaha, Neb., company, said West Corp. had about 350 employees in the Fayetteville office. She said she didn’t know how many of those were full-time as opposed to part-time.

“We were asked to take that facility dark, and that is based strictly on call-volume demand,” Padon said.

The impending closure was announced to the company’s staff in Fayetteville on June 9. West Corp. opened the office at 55 W. Sunbridge Drive in Fayetteville in 1998.

West Corp. will continue to operate another 34 offices in 17 states.
