Pinnacle Point Balloons, Baldwin & Shell Busy At WRMC

Collins and Hunter Haynes, along with John Ed Chambers of Danville, are building Pinnacle Suites — a 40,000-SF, full-service office complex at 5506 Walsh Lane in Rogers’ Pinnacle Point development. Chambers Bancshares in Danville, of which Chambers is chairman and CEO, is financing the $6 million project.

The Rogers office of Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. is the general contractor. Haynes Ltd., the Haynes’ architecture and development firm, is the architect.

Pinnacle Suites sits on a three-acre parcel and will feature furnished office suites ranging from 300-750 SF, a central receptionist, high-speed Internet connectivity, a work-out facility, showers and a common area.

Construction began in February and is expected to be completed by October.

At the corner of Walsh Lane and Pinnacle Point Drive, two commercial buildings totaling 7,400 SF are being built by Randolf L. Lais and his wife Jackie. One 4,000-SF building at 5508 Pinnacle Point Drive will house Randolf L. Lais, DDS, PA, Health-based Fine Dentistry and Studio 55 Interior Design and Photography Studio. Both businesses are owned by the Laises.

The 3,400 SF building there is designed for commercial or professional office lease space. The $1 million project was financed by Community Bank of Northwest Arkansas, and Nabholz Construction Co. is the general contractor.

Situated on a 0.9-acre parcel, the property has already been prepped for dividing into two lots in case prospective tenants would rather buy than lease.

Construction began in February and is expected to be completed in September.

Collins Haynes and Pete Walsh started the 38-acre Pinnacle Point development in 1998. The addition of Pinnacle Suites will add to the development’s existing 385,000 SF of office and retail space.

Baldwin & Shell Busy At WRMC

Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. of Rogers on May 28 and June 4 purchased two building permits valued at a combined $3.5 million for work at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

A two-story, 30,200-SF medical office and laboratory is under construction just south of the hospital’s main entrance. That is a $2.69-million project financed by Arvest Bank-Fayetteville and Bank of Fayetteville. The first floor will be occupied by physicians of the Northwest Arkansas Heart and Vascular Center, while the hospital lab will take up the majority of the second floor.

The second permit was for $844,519 and will be used to finish out the Walker Family Heart & Vascular Institute.

Cromwell Architects Engineers of Fayetteville is the architectural firm and USInfrastructure Inc. of Springdale is the lead engineer.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2004. There will be a skywalk connecting the new building to the Walker Family Heart & Vascular Institute.

Wenzinger Adds Five At Shadow Valley

Phil Wenzinger of Wenzinger Construction recently purchased five building permits valued at a combined $1 million to build houses at the newest golf course community in Northwest Arkansas.

Shadow Valley’s 18-hole golf course opened earlier this year. The latest homes in the subdivision are at 5411, 5412 and 5414 Braebourne Road, 5303 Braebourne Court, and 6800 Shadow Valley Road. A combination of Arvest Bank Group Inc. and First Security Bank branches from several local cities will finance the construction of the five homes.

Homes at Shadow Valley will sell at an average price range of $230,000-$500,000. The size of the homes averages from 2,200-4,000 SF. An estimated 200 homes are occupied or under construction in Phases 1-3 of the projected 950-home, 15-phase project. Charles Reaves is the developer of the 514-acre site.

Adams House Building New Bentonville Facility

Adams House Elderly Care, an assisted-living firm in Bentonville, is building a new $1 million facility at 101 Angel Floro Drive. United Bank in Springdale is providing the financing for the 9,000-SF project.

The facility will be built on a three-acre lot near the intersection of East Central Avenue and S.E. “J” Street. Floro said he purchased that property in 2002 from the Walker family for $200,000.

Adams House has outgrown its 3,000-SF space at 225 S. Matin St.

Angel Floro, the business’ owner, said construction began in May and is expected to be completed by October.

EWI Constructors Inc. of Fayetteville is the general contractor. Mangold Architecture & Construction of Rogers is the architect.

Each room at the facility will average 140-150 SF and will have its own bathroom and other amenities. The new site will include a spa and aqua massage service.

Springdale Subdivisions Get More Riggins Homes

Kevin Riggins of Riggins Construction in Springdale recently purchased six more building permits valued at a combined $546,763 to add homes to a south Springdale subdivision.

Riggins’ latest homes at Walnut Crossing will range from 1,800-2,100 SF on 0.19-acre lots. They are at 3435, 3448, 3482 and 3497 Mulberry Lane and 3430 and 3439 Service Berry Lane with Riggins as the contractor.

There will be 75 lots in the addition, which is near the intersection of Powell Street and Walnut Grove Road.

Rogers To Get Another Arby’s

United States Beef Corp. of Tulsa recently purchased a building permit valued at $530,000 to build a new fast-food restaurant.

U.S. Beef Corp. owns the chain of Arby’s, which already has a location on S. 8th St. in Rogers. The new Arby’s will be located at 3929 W. Walnut St., near the former KAMO radio station site.

The general contractor for the 28,000-SF building will be MDX Builders of Little Rock. White Design Group of Tulsa will be the architect for the one-acre site, with Freeland Kauffman and Fredeen of Rogers engineering. The new restaurant is expected to be completed by fall. n
