In two separate cases, Fayetteville District Court Judge Rudy Moore on April 7 ordered Aaron Bleidt, editor of CitiScapes Metro Monthly magazine in Fayetteville, to pay former employees who say he reneged on his agreement.

Moore ordered Bleidt to pay $2,428 plus costs to Linda D. Ralston after she filed a lawsuit on Nov. 8 claiming Bleidt owed her $3,604.85 for her work as advertising manager.

In her court filing, Ralston wrote that Bleidt had told her “The ‘house’ claimed it to save money,” referring to her 15 percent sales commission.

Moore also ordered Bleidt to pay Vanessa King and Vaughn Black $200 plus $332 in trade through the photography department at Collier Drug Stores in Fayetteville. In their court filing, King and Black claimed Bleidt owed them $582. King wrote that she worked for CitiScapes for about three weeks in the spring of 2002 and wasn’t paid for “editorial and advertising services.”

Gail Segers served as attorney for the plaintiffs in both cases. Segers’ daughter, Betsy Finocchi, is publisher and editor of All About Town, a fortnightly entertainment publication that competes with CitiScapes.
