Bentonville Gets Upscale Apartments

Gary Thompson and Bob Hill of Thompson-Hill LLC recently completed an upscale apartment complex in Bentonville. The $1.2 million project was financed by First State Bank of Fayetteville.

The Woods At The Park apartments are located at 3102 S.E. J St. in Bentonville. The 24-unit complex was built by Sagely Construction Co. of Rogers.

The one- (690 SF) and two-bedroom (1,000 SF) units offer amenities such as large bedrooms, garden bath tubs, private patios, computer stations, raised kitchen bar seating, several windows and an upgraded appliance package.

“What we tried to create is a quiet wooded retreat of luxury apartment homes,” Thompson said.

Root Elementary Getting New Classrooms

Crossland Construction of Rogers recently purchased two building permits valued at a combined $1.1 million to add new classrooms at two Fayetteville elementary schools.

Root Elementary, located at 1529 E. Mission Blvd. in east Fayetteville, will get six new classrooms. Root, with 451 students, is the third-largest elementary school in the Fayetteville School District.

The Root addition will be 7,225 SF, making that school a total of 42,325 SF.

The Fayetteville School District is also adding four new classrooms at Holcomb Elementary, the district’s largest elementary school with 546 students. Holcomb is located at 2900 N. Salem Road in west Fayetteville.

The Holcomb addition will be 4,870 SF, making that school a total of 67,015 SF.

The new classrooms are expected to be ready for use by the start of the 2003-2004 school year.

Riggins Keeping Busy at Steeplechase Addition

Kevin Riggins of Riggins Construction in Springdale on March 27 purchased seven building permits valued at a combined $977,519 to add more homes at a northwest Springdale subdivision.

Steeplechase subdivision, located in Springdale but in Benton County, will get the new homes from Riggins ranging from 2,099-2,276 SF. The lots are on Westchase Street, Surrey Lane and Huntsboro Lane.

Also, James Conner of Conner Enterprises Inc. of Springdale on March 27 purchased two building permits valued at a combined $251,940 to build Steeplechase homes. Both homes will be on Westchase Street and range from 2,020-2,073 SF.

ARC Construction Finances More Homes for Windwood

Ralph Walker of ARC Construction in Centerton on Feb. 26 got seven loans from Simmons First Bank totaling $713,520 to build more homes in a southwest Bentonville subdivision.

Windwood subdivision, off Arkansas Highway 102, will have about 400 homes.

Homes at Windwood will range from 1,500-1,900 SF. They will be priced from about $95,000-$115,000. The lots will include fully sodded yards, while the houses will include full-brick, maintenance-free exteriors; ceramic tile; cherry cabinets; and architectural shingles on the roof. Some will have Jacuzzi tubs.

Unilever Finds New Home at Barrington Centre I

Europe-based Unilever HPC, one of the largest makers of packaged consumer goods, is moving from one upscale commercial facility in Benton County to another.

A building permit was purchased March 26 for $545,000 for tenant finish-out at Barrington Centre I.

Unilever is moving from 2113 S. 54th St. at Village on the Creeks in Bentonville to 901 N. 47th St., Suite 400, at Barrington Centre I. Unilever will have the entire fourth floor and one room on the third floor, for a total of 17,650 SF. The target date for occupancy is July 23.

Oakridge Builders Inc. of Springdale is the general contractor on the project. Barrington Centre I and II are just east of Interstate 540 near the Scottsdale Center commercial park.

Unilever’s products include soap, deodorants, fragrances, frozen foods, margarine, soap and tea. The company’s brand names include Ben & Jerry’s, Country Crock, Lever 2000, Lipton, Q-Tips, Slim-Fast and Wisk. It is the world’s third-largest food-based firm.

Austin Homes Building at Bent Tree

Larry Austin of Austin Homes Inc. in Bentonville recently purchased three building permits valued at a combined $501,160 to add more homes at a south Rogers subdivision.

Bent Tree of Rogers is a 127-home subdivision located east of Interstate 540 off Pleasant Grove Road and near Ridgecrest Meadows subdivision.

Austin’s latest homes are at 5500 and 5501 Bent Tree Drive and 4207 Quelinda Drive. They range from 2,410-2,528 SF.

Developers Randy Winski of Dallas and Mike Philip of Fayetteville are partners on the subdivision.

Shadow Valley Continues Growth

Lance Johnson Builders of Springdale recently purchased four building permits valued at a combined $569,024 to build more homes at a southwest Rogers subdivision.

Shadow Valley is a 514-acre golf community west of the Pleasant Grove Road/Interstate 540 intersection and stretching west near Arkansas Highway 112. It is a Charles Reaves development. It will include a championship 18-hole golf course.

Johnson’s latest homes there are at 6633, 6635, 6637 and 6639 Valley View Road and range from 1,943-2,241 SF.

Hall Brothers Build in Rogers

Danny and Ricky Hall of Hall Brothers Custom Homes Inc. of Farmington recently purchased three building permits valued at a combined $449,820 to build homes at a southwest Rogers subdivision.

Emerald Heights is west of Interstate 540 off Pleasant Grove Road and near Bellview Elementary School. The latest homes being built there will range from 2,215-2,220 SF.

They are located at 5205, 5207 and 5211 S. 43rd St.

Three More Homes Coming to Renaissance

Lance Johnson Building Co. of Springdale on March 4 purchased three building permits valued at a combined $442,371 to add homes at a southeast Springdale subdivision.

Renaissance East subdivision is adjacent to Renaissance subdivision south of U.S. Highway 412. It is near the intersection of Turner Street and Walnut Grove Avenue.

Johnson’s latest homes will be at 587 Bordeaux Ave. (2,425 SF), 546 Gascony Ave. (2,346 SF) and 3522 Bastille St. (2,104 SF).
