The chief financial officer for Dallas-based Triad Hospitals Inc. has been recalled to temporary active duty with the United States Marine Corps, according to a March 20 company announcement.

Burke W. Whitman, 46, will participate in the war with Iraq.

The company said it expects little impact on daily operations. Whitman’s duties will be handled by the chairman and other Triad executives, according to the announcement.

Triad owns Northwest Health System Inc., the parent of Northwest Medical Center of Benton County and Northwest Medical Center of Washington County.

Triad stock closed at $24.81 on March 20, the day of the announcement and the day bombing began in Baghdad, down 49 cents from closing prices the previous day.
