The Northwest Arkansas Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America announced in early February that three of its members passed the national accreditation exam in the fall of 2002, bringing the chapter’s total to nine accredited members.

The chapter, which has 45 members, was founded in 2001 and boasts a 100-percent pass rate for the accreditation exam. The national average among PRSA chapters for passing the exam is around 60 percent.

The chapter’s newest APRs who sat for the exam during fall 2002 are Deborah Batson, senior development officer, Washington Regional Foundation; Michael Clark, director of the Northwest Arkansas office of Sells/Clark; and Dixie Kline, communications director for the University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton College of Business.

All three will be able to use the APR designation, which stands for accredited in public relations.
