The Price Of Celebrity

We were surfing eBay the other day and ran across an interesting item.

Someone in Holden, Mass., was trying to sell Don Tyson’s autograph on the online auction site.

The seller, [email protected], was asking for a starting bid of $2 but had no takers as of Feb 13. The auction was scheduled to end on Feb. 16.

The auction said little besides: “A 3 x 5 card hand signed by Don Tyson, signed with a black felt tip pen.”

Shipping costs were $3 for regular and $5 for “priority shipping.”

The seller claimed to have sold more than 30,000 autographs online, mostly of celebrities.

We wondered if the former chairman of Springdale’s Tyson Foods Inc. is officially a celebrity now.
