Founded by Larry Garriott and his mother, Bonnie Capwell Brooks, both of Springdale, Centra Industries is a privately held infrastructure development company.

Centra is a holding company for four other companies: Midwest Cable Communications of Fayetteville, which does directional boring for underground television cable (“without disrupting the topography”); Smith & Co. Surveying Services Inc. of Bakersfield, Calif.; TWS Engineering of Atlanta; and Central Wireless Construction Inc. of Laramie, Wyo., which provides wireless site construction (cellular telephone towers) and maintenance service. Centra has also acquired Razorback Construction Services, which does aerial installation of telecommunication lines.

Fuchs said Midwest Cable has done work for Cox Communications and Time Warner.

“We are able to go into almost any country in the world and provide a turnkey service,” Fuchs said.

Centra purchased Fayetteville’s historic Ozark Theater building in 2001 for $2.1 million. The company’s headquarters are located there at 2 N. College Ave.
