Nextel Partners Inc., the wireless business solutions firm with five employees in Fayetteville and 25 in Little Rock, will announce in early February the release of its latest hand-held device. The BlackBerry 6510 offers Nextel’s patented digital walkie-talkie (direct connect) feature made popular by a series of commercials starring Franz of television’s “NYPD Blue.”
Comedian George Lopez and actor Rob Lowe also endorse the product in ads.
The new phone will operate on a nationwide packet data network and offer a litany of business applications. We hear it will be available in Arkansas by March 1.
