Lori Harrison-Stone, most recently assistant editor of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal, has been promoted to associate editor. A 23-year veteran of journalism, Stone joined the publication Sept. 16 and Publisher Darin Gray said she has distinguished herself in short order.

“We are extremely pleased to have someone with Lori’s talent and expertise join our team,” Gray said. “It hasn’t taken very long for our staff and our readers to realize the level of talent that Lori brings to our company.”

Stone previously worked as a reporter for The Morning News’ Rogers edition, the Northwest Arkansas Times, Benton County Daily Record, the Cherokee Newspaper Group and the Arkansas Traveler.

She has received numerous awards — including several for business, news and in-depth reporting — from the Arkansas Press Women’s Association, Arkansas Press Association and the Associated Press Managing Editors Association of Arkansas.

A Fayetteville High School graduate, Stone earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English from the University of Arkansas.

Stone covers health care, nonprofit organizations, small businesses, tourism and the arts.
