Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale announced on Oct. 22 that it would provide differential pay for all of its employees called to active National Guard or military Reserve duty since Sept. 11, 2001.

In its news release, the company said it would make up the difference between compensation for the military duty and the normal salary or wages of the team member before being called into duty.

The move was announced in conjunction with the signing by Tyson Foods President, Chairman and CEO John Tyson of a “statement of support” for the Guard and Reserve, recognizing those branches of the military as essential to the strength of the nation and the well-being of communities.

The release said employees should not have to worry about their financial well-being while spending time away from their homes and families.
