Inc magazine has recognized EagleOne Logistics Inc. of Fort Smith as one of America’s fastest growing private companies in 2002. The special Inc. 500 issue hits the stands Oct. 15.
Formerly known as DFI Delivery Inc., the company was ranked No. 316 nationally by Inc. EagleOne has offices in Springdale and Little Rock, two in Oklahoma — Tulsa and Oklahoma City — and two in Missouri — Joplin and Springfield.
EagleOne offers courier services, scheduled and routed services, distribution and logistics management, and warehousing.
The company had a 742 percent growth over the last five years with a sales increase from $487,000 to $4.05 million during the same period.
“We feel blessed to be included in Inc magazine’s extremely prestigious ranking,” said Greg Hasley, president and CEO of EagleOne. “It shows what can be accomplished through teamwork of not only those who work with us, but also the support of our vendors and loyalty of our great customers.”
EagleOne had 82 employees in 2001 and a fleet of 70 trucks. After the September 11 terrorist attacks, the fleet’s insurance coverage was to increase 250 percent. At that point, Hasley notified his couriers that they would have to become independent contractors. Today, EagleOne has just 24 employees and a fleet of 75 trucks.
