Philpot Fills Void
By now everyone has probably heard that Beall Barclay & Co. PLC, the Fort Smith accounting firm with 3,800 customers and $5 million in annual billings, has launched a financial services and planning division. (We predicted as much back in March.)
But the real story is in how much success the company has already found — especially in Northwest Arkansas where it operates a large accounting office in Rogers.
What most probably don’t know is how much success Beall Barclay has already seen.
Since recently launching Beall Barclay Wealth Management LLC, the company has seen that division’s portfolio bulge to “about six or nine months ahead of expectations.” Much of that business is apparently coming from Benton and Washington counties.
The division is affiliated with First Global Corp. of Dallas, which is owned by Fidelity in Fort Worth.
Mike Carroll, a member of Beall Barclay’s management committee, is heading up the wealth management division. Carolyn Philpot, the wife of managing partner Randy Philpot, is a certified financial planner with 13 years of experience in that sector.
She has helped Carroll and Angie Jones, who Beall Barclay lured away from A.G. Edwards & Sons in Fort Smith, start the division. Jones was operations manager at A.G. Edwards and will serve in the same capacity at Beall Barclay.
As of mid-August, seven of the company’s executives had passed their “Series Seven” exam and two more will sit for that soon.
