The “for sale” sign had just sprouted outside the former office of Head, Johnson & Kachigian in Fayetteville when another patent lawyer decided to relocate to Fayetteville.

David Pieper, plans to leave Waddey & Patterson in Nashville, Tenn., in September to join Trent Keisling, who left HJK, and has been practicing patent law on the downtown Fayetteville square. The new firm will be called Keisling & Pieper PLC.

Both Keisling and Pieper are graduates of the University of Arkansas law school. Both men are admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent Office.

HJK, which specialized in patent law, recently downsized its Fayetteville office but still has a patent researcher in Fayetteville. HJK is based in Tulsa.
