Arkansas Best Corp. Posts Second-Quarter Net Income

Fort Smith’s Arkansas Best Corp. on July 18 posted second-quarter net income of $6.5 million, or 26 cents a share, compared with net income of $9.8 million, or 40 cents a share, in the comparable quarter of 2001.

Revenue during this year’s second quarter was $345.1 million, down 15.1 percent from the second-quarter revenue of $406.6 million in 2001.
