Hall of Fame Nominations, Induction Ceremony Set
It’s time to submit nominations for the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame’s 2003 class.
The deadline for nominations is August 1, and the induction banquet is scheduled for February 7 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m.
Housed in the atrium of the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development at the University of Arkansas, the hall was established in 1999 by the UA’s Sam M. Walton College of Business.
The Arkansas Business Hall of Fame recognizes Arkansans — by birth or choice — who have been successful business leaders. The hall honors, preserves and perpetuates the names and outstanding accomplishments of business leaders who have brought lasting fame to Arkansas.
A statewide selection committee can choose no more than four individuals annually, but all nominations remain on file for five years. Nominees may also be living or posthumous and are not limited to UA graduates.
The selection committee will consider the following when making their selection of honorees:
• Business — the nominee has made a significant impact as a business leader.
• Community— the nominee has had concern for improving his/her community as a business leader.
• Ethics— the nominee has displayed the highest level of ethics in their business dealings.
Beyond the criteria noted here, the Selection Committee has the responsibility and discretionary power to make their determinations from the pool of nominations submitted.
For a nomination form and more information, please contact the Walton College’s office of external relations at (479) 575-6146 or via e-mail at [email protected].
