Blasted by The Morning News

On June 11, The Morning News sent this “breaking news alert” to its e-mail alert subscribers:

“Rogers police and fire officials were searching a portion of southwest Rogers at midday for a missing 7-year-old boy.”

Then, about an hour later, they sent another e-mail blast:

“A child missing for three hours Tuesday morning was found across the street from his home.”

Whew! What a relief.

We were a bit frustrated, though, because we couldn’t read the stories about this incident when we clicked onto the Internet link provided in the e-mail. When we tried to find the stories, the link took us to a page that said: “To e-mail this story to someone, please fill out the following form.” The story, however, wasn’t there.
