Ozark Film & Video Wins Festival Honor
Dan Borengasser, vice president of Ozark Film & Video Productions in Springdale, was named a first runner-up for screen writing at the International Family Film Festival in Santa Clarita, Calif.
His screenplay, “Whiskers’ Pond,” was a finalist in the feature length animation category. The festival recognizes “general audience” or G-rated films and screenplays. The weeklong festival featured screenings and the awards ceremony.
Roy E. Disney, nephew of Walt Disney and vice chairman of Walt Disney Co., and actor Edward James Olmos were the event’s special honorees.
“Whiskers’ Pond” features talking animals and is about a forest pond that’s threatened by an alligator snapping turtle. The hero is a frog who goes on a journey to save the pond.
Borengasser previously won a $500 award for his romantic comedy screenplay titled “Midnight Rodeo” at The One In Ten Screenplay Contest. The script subsequently has been submitted to Universal Studios in Hollywood.
Ozark Film & Video employs 12 people.
