Richard Fischer, owner of the New Town Shopping Center and Fischer’s Heating & Air in Rogers, recently bought a print shop and its equipment from a former tenant to open New Town Print N Copy.

Previously known as Premiere Printing Inc., the business runs two press machines — a Hamada 600 and an A.B. Dick 360 — which print up to 2,000 black-and-white copies per hour, said Pam Thurman, manager of New Town Print N Copy.

Offering graphic design and production of items such as brochures, flyers and business letterhead, the company targets both individual and commercial customers.

Pel-Freez and Gold’s Gym are two of New Town Print N Copy’s clients, Thurman said, and only a small customer base came with the purchase of the business. She wouldn’t disclose the startup cost or purchase price of the business.

Four employees staff the shop, and the job is Thurman’s first experience as a general manager. Before Fischer approached her about supervising New Town Print N Copy, Thurman worked in bindery at Roark Printing Inc. for 12 years.

She said she loved working at Roark, and New Town Print N Copy would outsource too-large printing jobs there, if necessary.
