Fritz Steiger announced on May 9 that he will resign from his position as president and CEO of Children First America on Sept. 1.

We hear he plans to start his own business, but he hasn’t revealed yet what that business might be.

“The time has come for me to enter the private sector and pursue some entrepreneurial dreams that will allow me to spend more time with my family,” he said in an e-mail to friends and colleagues.

Under Steiger’s leadership, Children First America has grown to become a nationwide organization that sponsors private-school voucher programs.
