Les Haynie, the owner of Blue Moon Music of Fayetteville, plans to open a second store May 1 at 1706 S.E. Walton Boulevard in Bentonville.

Blue Moon currently has a 2,400-SF store at 1904 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville. The Bentonville store will be 1,800 SF.

At the end of January, Lee Hight closed Musician’s Pro Shop in Springdale. The store had been open in its most recent incarnation since 1993. Co-owner Bruce Sconzert died last year of heart failure. Another partner, James Johnson, sold his part of the business to the other two owners in about 1996 but retained ownership of the 3,300-SF building.

Hight initially opened a store called Musician’s Pro Shop in Springdale in 1972 but closed that one in the late 1970s when he went to work for Sigler Music Center in Springdale. Hight and his partners reopened the store in 1993.

Since closing Musician’s Pro Shop in January, Hight has gone back to work for Sigler, where he sells instruments and does repair work.
