Norman McChristian of Siloam Springs and Hope Duke of Gravette have spent more than $1 million to launch a new radio station, KSEC, 95.7-FM, based in Rogers.

McChristian said the new station, which has a “smooth jazz” format, officially launched on March 10.

The owners have subleased the former KAMO building on West Walnut Street in Rogers to serve as home for KSEC for at least the first year. McChristian said the station will have about five employees.

He is a broadcast engineer who has “been in the business since 1959.” McChristian said he helped build Fayetteville radio stations KFAY-AM, KKEG-FM and KEZA-FM as well as stations in Fort Smith, Florida and Texas. He was a part owner of all of those stations except KEZA.
