In February, Amos Carver began laying aside his mail bag three times a week, opting instead for a desk job filing taxes. Usually, Carver delivers mail on a U.S. Postal Service rural route in Lowell, but he and his wife Carole Carver recently opened Electronic Tax Services in a 1,000-SF office in Rogers.

Both Carvers are Internal Revenue Service-certified tax practitioners. Carole Carver runs the office while Amos Carver continues his mail route once or twice a week.

Electronic Tax Services files income tax forms for individuals and small businesses, including nonprofit organizations. The firm will file for about 400 clients during this tax season, Amos Carver said. He expects 90 percent of those patrons to be individuals.

In cooperation with Bank One in Rogers, the firm also arranges refund-anticipation loans for clients.
