Dee Hoffman and Regina Keirsey measure their success in inches. They want to help other women trim off extra weight with their new business, Fit Express for Women.

Located in a 1,700-SF gym in Evelyn Hills Shopping Center, Fit Express features an ensemble of workout machines designed for rehabilitation exercises. The 30-minute program ushers clients through a musical-chairs circuit that features eight hydraulic weight machines and eight jogging squares, or recovery stations.

Hoffman said she and Keirsey opened the business because they are both overweight and understand the need for professionals to add regular exercise to their routines. Since launching Fit Express, Hoffman has lost four cumulative inches and Keirsey seven.

Previously, Hoffman worked as a clinical mental health therapist, and Keirsey is a licensed practical nurse.

The partners used about $38,000 from personal savings to open Fit Express. Clients sign a one-year contract and pay a joining fee and monthly dues for unlimited use of the machines. Senior and junior memberships are available.
