First Baptist Church to Upgrade Facilities
First Baptist Church of Springdale on Dec. 12 got a $4 million loan from Arvest Springdale Bank & Trust for several projects.
The church, at 1709 Johnson Road, is renovating its worship center, expanding restroom facilities and doing a general upgrade on its technology.
First Baptist Church of Springdale has about 12,000 members with annual gross revenues of more than $12 million in 2000. Its 40-acre campus includes Shiloh Christian School.
The Church at Pinnacle Hills, a division of First Baptist Church of Springdale, held its first service Aug. 19. The 13,500-SF facility seats about 850 in its sanctuary.
Israel Begins Phase II of Signature Square
Ben Israel of Dixie Development in Springdale on Dec. 5 purchased a building permit valued at $1.6 million for construction of part of a business center in south Springdale.
Phase II of Signature Square, at 2323 S. Old Missouri Road, will be 26,190 SF.
Signature Square phase I is on the corner of U.S. Highway 412 and Arkansas Highway 265. Phase II adjoins phase I and fronts Highway 265 (also known as Old Missouri Road).
Fayetteville Gets New Apartment Complex
Candlelight Place LLC of Fort Smith on Dec. 31 purchased six building permits valued at a combined $2.36 million to build a new Fayetteville apartment complex.
Candlelight Place Apartments, financed by First Security Bank in Fayetteville, will be located between 1770 and 1790 Gregg Ave. Pat McGowan is the managing member of Candlelight Place LLC.
Construction began on the apartments Jan. 17. The complex is scheduled for occupancy by late fall.
There will be seven buildings in the complex, including the office, that are divided into 56 units. The one-bedroom units will range from 620-660 SF. The two-bedroom units will range from 960-1,100 SF. Rent will range from $500-$625 per month.
Mathias Adding More Springdale Apartments
James Mathias of Huntsville Apartments LLC on Dec. 17 got a $1.28 million loan from Arkansas National Bank in Springdale for construction of a new apartment complex in Springdale.
Mathias is building 48 units — in three 16-unit buildings — at 912, 914 and 916 Powell St.
He also has purchased three building permits valued at a combined $1.08 million to build 48 more apartments at 1301, 1305 and 1307 Crutcher St. in Springdale.
Mathias also is adding a 14-unit complex at 305 Berry St. in Springdale, north of Emma Avenue and west of the Jones Center for Families. Those units will be about 700 SF each.
Blue Springs Addition Gets Facelift by Group
Rick McCullough, Mark Marquess and Dan Dykema of Sierra LLC and Central Village Inc. on Dec. 18 secured a $975,000 loan from Community First Bank of Eureka Springs to upgrade and build an addition to a subdivision at Beaver Lake.
Blue Springs subdivision, east of U.S. Highway 412 near the communities of Sonora and Nob Hill, has about 35 existing homes. There are about 165 lots in the subdivision, which the group will develop. They also plan to turn Blue Springs into a unique, yet affordable addition with homes priced between $85,000-$145,000. This is believed to be the first moderately priced subdivision with its own pool, clubhouse and park on Beaver Lake.
It also will be a planned community with a restricted covenant of design and quality.
Riggins Properties Also Busy at Porthaven
Darin Riggins of Riggins Construction and Riggins Properties on Nov. 29 got nine loans totaling $871,200 to build homes at a west Springdale subdivision.
The homes will be at Porthaven subdivision, located next to Har-Ber Meadows subdivision.
Riggins got seven of those loans from First Security Bank and the other two from Bank of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Riggins also got 13 building permits valued at a combined $1.02 million for more Porthaven homes.
Puttkammers Adding Homes in Rogers
Kurt Puttkammer of Rogers recently purchased four building permits valued at a combined $597,244 to build new homes at a Rogers subdivision.
The homes are in Ridgecrest Meadows subdivision in south Rogers. Located on Lyndale Drive and Ettington Drive, the homes are about 2,400 SF each.
Meanwhile, Vance Puttkammer purchased one building permit valued at $306,884 for construction at 4601 Blossom Way at The Manors subdivision, also in south Rogers.
Landers Purchase Fayetteville Home
Steve Landers Jr. and his wife Karmen, both of Benton, on Dec. 17 got a $484,000 loan from Malvern National Bank to purchase a Fayetteville home.
The home is at 2642 Timberglen Lake Drive in Robinwood Estates in east Fayetteville near Arkansas Highway 45 east.
Landers is manager of Landers Auto Park in Fayetteville. He is the son of Steve Landers Sr., who founded Landers Auto Group 30 years ago and sold the business in 1995 to United Auto Group. The elder Landers is now president of the south central region for UAG.
Steve Landers Jr. officially took over the former 34-acre Nelms Auto Stores at the corner of Interstate 540 and Arkansas Highway 112 in Fayetteville on Oct. 15.
Southfork Subdivision Continues Expansion
Darin Riggins of Riggins Construction in Springdale recently purchased five building permits valued at a combined $459,033 to build more homes in a Lowell subdivision.
Riggins’ latest homes will be in Southfork subdivision #3 phase A. There will be 224 lots in phase A. There were 92 lots total in Southfork #1 and #2.
Homes at Southfork, in southeast Lowell, range from about 1,200-1,400 SF.
Lowell soon will have a new Summer Meadows subdivision. Located in northeast Lowell off McClure Road and east of Summerfield subdivision, Summer Meadows will have 37 lots in phase I and 33 more in phase II.
Hoffman Supply Co. Getting New Warehouse
Buildings Inc. of Springdale on Jan. 3 purchased a building permit valued at $435,175 to build a new warehouse for a Springdale business.
Hoffman Supply Co., currently at 228 S. 40th St. in Springdale, is having a 14,472-SF warehouse built at 3920 Cawood Lane.
Hoffman Supply is a refrigeration, heating and air-conditioning supply company based in Springfield, Mo. It has branches in Springdale and Jonesboro as well as Joplin, Rolla and Hollister, Mo.
