Cafe Santa Fe Gets Liquor Back

CSF Franchise Group is once again serving liquor at its Cafe Santa Fe restaurants in Bentonville and east Fayetteville.

The restaurants were taken over by the Fayetteville-based corporation last fall after they were closed by the franchisee, Abu-Haleema Enterprises of Winslow. Abu-Haleema has since filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection.

Tom Flores, president of CSF Franchise Group, said the franchisee owed too much money in back taxes for the corporation to take over the existing liquor licenses at those restaurants. So Flores created a new corporation to apply for new liquor licenses.

The license for the store at 1860 N. Crossover Road in Fayetteville was awarded Dec. 19. The Cafe Santa Fe at 1402 S. Shane Lane in Bentonville got its new liquor license in early January.
