Forty Under 40: Lance Stewart
Lance Stewart is a home-grown talent who has excelled with his company.
Stewart, 33, was born and raised in Tontitown, and he remains there today with P.A.M. Transportation Services Inc.
He began working at P.A.M. in 1989 while attending the University of Arkansas.
He graduated from the UA with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, computer information systems and quantitative analysis in 1991.
Stewart’s duties at P.A.M. include handling accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, payroll and standard money management.
“I like the fact that P.A.M. is a smaller company that does a great job recognizing hard work and work ethics,” Stewart said. “It’s a company on the move. It’s really growing.”
When Stewart began working at P.A.M., its shares were trading at well less than a dollar. Today, P.A.M. shares are trading over $26 each.
“We’ve come a long way,” Stewart said. “We have great people and a great company to work for. They really reward you for hard work from the top on down.”
Stewart said he has reached his goal for this stage in his life and that his next step at P.A.M. “will come down the road.”
