Improving the quality of life in Rogers is Dana Mather’s main focus.

As community development director, Mather, 32, works with a variety of committees recognizing community volunteers, training residents in leadership skills for the future of Rogers and encouraging local businesses within the Rogers School District to “get involved.”

A native of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mather moved to Rogers in 1997 to become the managing editor of the Rogers Hometown News for three years before stepping into the role of director of the Chamber’s community development division in January 2000.

Mather currently serves as a board member for Main Street Rogers, is chair of the Frisco Festival and works with both the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and committee for Heritage Tourism in Rogers.

Involved in several community activities, Mather said she looks up to and would like to emulate Arvest Bank Executive Vice President Dick Trammel who has a hand in “anything that’s good going on in Northwest Arkansas.”

“I admire how he involves himself in projects and activities that he has a true depth of feeling for. He picks the things that he feels the strongest about,” she said.
