Forty Under 40: Chris Morrison
Chris Morrison loves banking. The 36-year-old said it keeps her hand on the pulse of the community and offers inspirational moments, such as when she helps clients buy their first home.
“It keeps me motivated because people get so excited and even send you flowers and thank-you notes,” Morrison said.
Morrison graduated from Rogers High School and has lived in Fayetteville for more than 18 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Arkansas in 1998.
She entered the banking business in 1990 with a former Northwest Arkansas mortgage company and in 1991 joined United Bank’s team. Having started as a loan assistant, she worked her way up to loan officer and assistant vice president before attaining her current position.
Morrison has completed numerous compliance seminars and the Arkansas Institute of Banking course and has trained at the Louisiana Graduate School of Banking.
Morrison is Parent Teacher Association treasurer for Holcomb Elementary School in Fayetteville and a past president of Altrusa International of Springdale, a women’s business organization that promotes literacy among women and children.
She’s also a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and is a graduate of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership program.
