Registered landscape architect Greg Bland prefers the old-fashioned method of design.
“The nice thing about what I do is that I can start with a pencil and some paper,” Bland said. He uses computer-aided drafting programs to assist his craft, but his preference for hand drafting the work fits his style. Bland said his favorite landscape architecture is “classical.”
After graduating from the University of Arkansas, Bland moved to Nashville, Tenn., and worked for Ben Page & Associates as a project manager.
Now Bland offers his style to upscale residential landscapes in Northwest Arkansas with his new business, Landform Designs.
Bland operates Landform Designs from his home, but he said he spends about 20 percent of his time at work sites.
Less than $5,000 launched the business, and Bland expects to stay busy year-round. He anticipates the majority of his clientele will originate in Bentonville and Rogers.
