Staffmark announced on Dec. 13 that the company will sell its Technology Training Centers in Fayetteville and Little Rock to ITec of Little Rock by the end of December.

“Delivering effective workforce solutions for our clients nationwide is Staffmark’s primary focus,” said David Bartholomew, CEO of Staffmark. “The training centers were Staffmark’s only non-staffing business line and by divesting of those operations we can focus our efforts on our core business.”

Andrea Edwards, a spokesperson for Staffmark, said the company will continue to operate its 200 staffing offices nationwide, 22 of which are in Arkansas. Edwards said the private company doesn’t release financial information, so the sale price for the two training center’s wouldn’t be made public.

Edwards said students at the training centers will see little change when the facilities are taken over by ITec.

“In conjunction with this transaction, Staffmark has made a financial investment in ITec and will work closely with them to make a smooth transition for our students,” Bartholomew said.

ITec, a Microsoft Certified Technical Education Center, began operation in Little Rock in 1995 and offers a wide range of technology training programs and certifications.

Originally the commercial staffing division of StaffMark Inc., Staffmark was sold to Stephens Inc. of Little Rock in 1999 for $190.1 million.
