No Cotton for Eli Whitney

We didn’t know the inventor of the cotton gin is playing quarterback for the Ole Miss Rebels, but it’s the gospel according to Wally.

In his Dec. 2 column in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Wally Hall wrote that the Rebels’ “big-name quarterback, Eli Whitney, could be getting the shaft …”

We suspect Hall was referring to Eli Manning. Either way, despite their 7-4 record, it looks like no Cotton Bowl for Ole Miss this year.
