Citing better service to clients as their motivation, the Little Rock law firms of Dover & Dixon and Horne Hollingsworth & Parker are merging to form Dover Dixon Horne PLLC.

Effective in January 2002, the new firm, with 29 employees, will take its place as one of the five largest law firms in Arkansas. It will have two offices — its headquarters at 425 West Capitol Ave., Suite 3700 in Little Rock and Dover & Dixon’s existing branch at 21 West Mountain St., Suite 300, in Fayetteville.

Lawyer William E. Bishop has headed the Fayetteville office since November 2000.

Partners at both firms said they’re confident the move will take advantage of a number of synergies within their offices.

“Our clients will benefit from a broader range of legal services, added depth to support those services and the same high-quality legal representation,” Allan Horne said.

Darrell Dover, who will serve as managing partner of the new firm, said the merger would strengthen both firms’ client base and allow them to be competitive.
