Donrey Shifts Reporters from Business Desk

Donrey Media Group is reassigning two of its area business reporters to work on general news coverage.

Las Vegas-based Donrey, which owns The Morning News of Springdale and The Southwest Times Record of Fort Smith, is reassigning one business reporter at each of those newspapers.

Previously, the two papers had a total of eight business reporters. Rusty Turner, managing editor of The Morning News, said the change is part of an effort between the two newspapers to more closely coordinate and share business reporting.

Kristal Dearing, assistant business editor for The Morning News, will move in December to the newspaper’s Fayetteville bureau to cover a different beat.

Rusty Garrett moved from the business desk of The Southwest Times Record to the metro desk to cover Sebastian County on Oct. 1.
