Net sales for Delta System Inc.’s third quarter ended Sept. 30 were up 3 percent compared with 2000’s third frame. The figure inched up from $1.59 million to $1.64 million, according to the filings with the Canadian Venture Exchange that were released Nov. 8.
All figures are in U.S. dollars.
Delta, the Bentonville-based automation and motion-control company, also showed a marked reduction in operating expenses. Those were cut 20 percent from $1.35 million during 2000’s third quarter to $1.08 million this go-around.
The net loss for 2001’s 3Q also was trimmed to $533,165, or 4 cents per share, up 39 percent from a net loss of $878,474 or about 8 cents per share in 2000’s 3Q.
Started in 1993, the firm has diversified in recent years from automated motion controls into motion control software. During the recent quarter, Delta released what it calls a “significantly improved version” of its software, SoftFlow Version 2.0. The firm claims the new version “substantially reduces development and deployment times for automation control applications.”
