Trio?s Looks for Fayetteville Location

Two employees of Trio’s, an upscale Little Rock restaurant, have been scouting for a location in Fayetteville.
Darryl Downs said he and Leann Jones will be similar to franchisees but will be the actual owner/operators of the new Trio’s. Downs said he needs at least 4,500 SF of space to seat some 100 diners.
Downs said he is considering several locations in the Dickson Street area, including the 14,000-SF Fayetteville Mercantile Building on West Avenue. Ice Plant Development LLC, which consists of Cal Canfield and two partners, spent $1 million to renovate that 98-year-old building, but it has yet to land its first tenant.
Downs described Trio’s food as “new American, eclectic, world fusion.” He said the food will encompass just about everything from Mediterranean to Oriental.
The first Trio’s opened in Little Rock 16 years ago. Owners Brent Peterson and Capi Peck-Peterson opened a second location this past summer in that city’s River Market area.
Peterson said it will likely be January at the earliest before a Trio’s is open in Fayetteville.
