Smokehouse Expanding ? Maybe

Frank Sharp is renovating the Fayetteville building at 205 W. Dickson St. that previously housed the Ozark Natural Food Co-Op to “probably” be used as the bakery for the Ozark Mountain Smokehouse, which is next door at 215 W. Dickson St.

Sharp said the Co-Op had occupied 3,500 SF of space in the 5,500-SF building before moving to a 13,000-SF space in Evelyn Hills Shopping Center this past November.

Sharp said the bakery currently is located in a 4,000-SF building between the former Co-Op location and the Smokehouse. Sharp owns all three buildings.

One reason for the change, Sharp said, is that he rents the Smokehouse out for wedding receptions, and wedding parties don’t want the store to be open during the reception. If he moves the bakery to the other building, he could keep it open and not disturb a reception next door.

If a tenant is interested in the former Co-Op building, Sharp said he may change his plans and keep the bakery where it is.
