Pippen Gets Farm Aid
Portland Trail Blazer forward Scottie Pippen, who last year made $13.75 million — the 10th highest contract in the NBA — recently received $181,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency and its production flexibility contract to grow trees on his farm in Ashley County.
Pippen is a native of Hamburg in rural southeast Arkansas. He played college basketball at the University of Central Arkansas before becoming a star with the Chicago Bulls. While with the Bulls and Michael Jordan, Pippen was a member of six NBA championship teams.
