River Valley Homes Busy in Springdale

River Valley Homes and President Marty J. Haest Jr. purchased 36 building permits valued at a total of $2.63 million from July 9-30 for construction of Springdale homes.

All but three of the most recent permits were for phase III of Northeast Meadows subdivision in east Springdale. Those homes will range in size from 1,480-1,660 SF and will be located on Timberline Avenue, Moody Lane, Prairie Street, Pioneer Street and Colt Avenue.

The other three permits are for Hidden Lake subdivision phases II and III. Those homes will be on Brookside, Beaver Creek and Orchard streets and will range in size from 1,400-1,745 SF.

River Valley Homes is also building several homes at Sandstone subdivision off Monte Ne Road in east Rogers. Homes there range between 1,000-1,300 SF.

First Baptist Church Buys Pinnacle Facility

First Baptist Church of Springdale on July 3 got a loan of $2 million from Arvest Springdale Bank & Trust to purchase the facility for its recently opened Rogers location.

The Church at Pinnacle Hills, a division of First Baptist Church of Springdale, held its first service Aug. 19. The 13,500-SF facility seats about 850 in its sanctuary.

Collins Haynes and Bill Schwyhart of Hart & Haynes LLC developed the building. Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. of Springdale was the general contractor.

First Baptist Church of Springdale has about 12,000 members with annual gross revenues of more than $12 million in 2000. Its 40-acre campus includes Shiloh Christian School.

Stribling Packaging Targets January Move

Stribling Packaging recently purchased a building permit valued at $1.76 million for its new facility in Rogers.

Currently at 307 W. Stribling Drive in northeast Rogers, Stribling Packaging is planning a January move to its new, 275,000-SF facility on Bekaert Drive in northwest Rogers.

Conark Builders in Rogers, a division of Nabholz Construction Corp., is the general contractor on the project.

Stribling will use 10,000 SF for its offices. Its new facility will be on 22.5 acres.

Bill Stribling Jr., president of Stribling Packaging, said the new site will be part of a “graphics packaging campus.” Ro-Ark Printing Inc. also is relocating to the Bekaert Drive area on about 17.5 acres and a 100,000-SF facility. Conark Builders is also the general contractor on the Ro-Ark building.

Johnny Carino’s Permit Purchased

On July 6, Kona Restaurant Group Inc., a division of Austin, Texas-based Fired Up Inc., purchased a building permit valued at $900,000 for its planned restaurant in Rogers.

Johnny Carino’s Country Italian Restaurant, which will remain owned and operated by the Kona Restaurant Group, will be in Scottsdale Center near the intersection of Interstate 540 and Walnut Street.

Johnny Carino’s is a self-proclaimed casual dining restaurant, with innovative recipes and décor. The company has 26 restaurants in the United States — in Arkansas, Texas, Colorado and Idaho — in additon to locations in the Middle East.

Parkway Construction Co. of Louisville, Texas, is the general contractor.

Colton’s Steakhouse and Grill is expected to be open in August in Scottsdale Center. That $800,000, 4,800-SF restaurant will be at 4700 W. Locust St. Hydco Inc. of North Little Rock is the general contractor.

Brandon Adding Homes at Springdale Locations

Gary Brandon of Gary Brandon Enterprises purchased seven building permits from July 25-30 totaling $818,340 to build more Springdale homes.

Brandon is building four homes at Ravenwood subdivision, all on Ravenwood Lane. Those homes will be 2,240 SF each.

Brandon also is adding three more condominiums at his Churchill Crescent Condominiums development on Springdale Country Club. They are on Courtney Cove, Courtney Circle and Arkanshire Circle and will range from 2,621-2,976 SF each. There will be 26 units in three buildings in Churchill Crescent, which lines the No. 9 fairway at SCC. Each unit has its own golf cart garage and will range in price from $195,000-$240,000.

Trudo to Add Trio at Hidden Springs

Christopher Trudo of Christopher’s Custom Homes in Bentonville recently purchased three building permits valued at $594,000 to build three north Bentonville homes.

The homes, in Phase IV of Hidden Springs subdivision, will be at 2007, 2008 and 2022 NW DeSoto Drive. They will range from 3,130-3,346 SF.

Fellowship Bible Adds to Facilities

Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas on June 26 secured a loan of $505,000 from Arvest Bank for another building at its large Benton County complex.

At 208 E. Pleasant Grove Road in Lowell, the church actually has been annexed by Rogers.

The newest building is a 5,180-SF multipurpose lodge. Fellowship Bible served as its own general contractor on the project.

The lodge officially opened July 28. Its primary use is for middle school ministry but will serve several different functions and be in use seven days a week, days and evenings.

Fellowship Bible has three Sunday services and another on Saturday evening. It has about six buildings in all, including the offices, student center, early child annex, family center and worship center.

The church was founded in 1984 and has resided at its current address since 1999.

KC Subdivision Nears Opening

Ken Bailey and Carlos Treat of KC Properties and co-owners of Buildings Inc. in Springdale on July 20 got a building permit valued at $480,477 to build the first of 10 facilities at a commercial subdivision.

Near the intersection of 40th Street and McRay Avenue just north of Sunset Avenue, KC Subdivision will be on 10 acres. The first building will be 9,587 SF and ready for use in September. The building will be leased by Summit Flooring & Shudders, which is currently at Signature Square in southeast Springdale.

The new street — Cawood Lane — that will split KC Subdivision has already been cut. The nine remaining lots are for sale.

Summit’s future address will be 3991 Cawood Lane.

Summit does upper-end flooring, decorative stained concrete and decorative accessories with area rugs and has recently become a distributor for Kurt’s Plantation Shudders. Summit also is doing the floor covering for the University of Arkansas’ Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
