Springdale to Continue Entertainment on Emma

A group of Springdale business leaders is forming an LLC of about a dozen people to bring entertainment to downtown Springdale twice a month from May through October.

The idea was born from Felipe’s Beer Garden, held annually at Featherfest on Emma Avenue. The beer garden sold more than $40,000 of beer in the last two years over a total of four days. All profits from the beer garden have been donated back to Featherfest and the Arts Center of the Ozarks.

So far, the group includes Clark Irwin, Gary Brandon, Phil Mayo, Mike Luttrell and Bryan Clinkscale. Mayo founded the beer garden.

The idea is to add to the multiple rejuvenation projects taking place with downtown Springdale. Shiloh Square, a large covered patio area on Emma, is the planned location for the twice-monthly event. It is hoped that the event will not only help existing downtown restaurants and retail businesses but also attract new ones.

The events will take place on Friday evenings. Some of the early events may include local entertainers Jed Clampit, the Cate Brothers and the Mo Brothers, as well as Salty Dog of Destin, Fla.
