Little Rock-based Colton’s Steak House & Grill plans to open a 4,800-SF restaurant by September at 4700 W. Locust St. in Rogers.

The project is expected to cost $800,000.

The chain currently has restaurants in nine Arkansas cities — Little Rock, Batesville, Conway, Harrison, Hot Springs, Jonesboro, Russellville, Searcy and Benton. A Colton’s is also slated to open this summer in Poplar Bluff, Mo. The Searcy and Batesville restaurants are operated by franchisees. The rest are company owned.

Bob Fain, Stan Cooper and Tim Nail started the company in 1996. The first restaurant opened that year in Conway and was named Dillon’s Steak House. The name was changed for trademark purposes when the Hot Springs restaurant opened in 1999.

Colton’s is a casual “new West” restaurant, said Robin Richardson, a vice president with the company.
