Northwest Arkansas Title Co. opened to serve banks, mortgage brokers, Realtors and individuals by offering closing services and title research for Washington and Benton counties.
Dennis and Mary Wohlford opened the new business, and they are comfortable in real estate since they own a small mom-and-pop realty, Wohlford & Co., and several rental spaces through Wohlford Rentals Inc. Although the Wohlfords close most of their own sales from Wohlford & Co. through Northwest Arkansas Title Co., they primarily opened the venture to cater to other businesses in the area.
“We know what the Realtors deal with,” Mary Wohlford said. “We see their perspective.”
Within a 1,300-SF office in Fayetteville, the title company employs a staff of four, excluding the two owners. Experienced employees will help establish the business, Wohlford said, and the base staff of four have a combined experience of 30 years.
Wohlford wouldn’t disclose the business’ start-up costs, but she said necessary tech support, such as a network server, was more than any other expense.
