Since their days in a Harrison junior high school, friends Robert Selby, Richard Davis and Eric Roberts have enjoyed putting on a show. School projects for the trio almost always included music videos and short movies. Now, 10 years after graduating from high school together, the three fellows have started an independent film company, Limitless Sky Entertainment.

Writing anything from romantic comedies to science fiction to adventures, Selby, Davis and Roberts hope to finish 10 to 20 scripts this year and sell them to Hollywood while producing an independent film on the side.

Before opening Limitless Sky Entertainment, Selby and Roberts worked together designing Web sites and video games, and Selby studied computer animation at the School of Communication Arts in Raleigh, N.C. Previously, Davis wrote for The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas. Now, all three work full time writing scripts for the new business.

A member of Selby’s family is sponsoring the venture, and Selby refused to disclose start-up costs. Filling the 1,300-SF office with computer animation equipment raised the initial costs above that of other fledgling film ventures, he said.

If the scripts are successful, the partners might move to Hollywood. However, extensive family in Northwest Arkansas keeps the business rooted in this area for now.
