Forty Under 40: Shannon Boyd

As senior vice president of integration for one-year-old Transplace.com, Shannon Boyd’s goal at work is to relieve the stress and concerns of his company’s clients.

Transplace is an Internet-based supply chain management company that provides comprehensive services and innovative solutions to the global transportation community. After the merger of transportation logistics business units from six of the largest publicly held truckload carriers – including Boyd’s former employer J. B. Hunt Transport Services of Lowell – Transplace has enjoyed a successful year under Boyd’s direction.

Boyd, 36, handles the initial contact with customers through the implementation of a project. After hours, he runs to relieve his own stress.

“I like having the opportunity to have ownership of the situation from beginning to end, identifying the problem with the client and working through all the steps to bring a solution to them,” Boyd said.

Boyd worked at J.B. Hunt for about nine years before moving over to Transplace. Originally from Fort Smith, he received his undergraduate degree in education from Arkansas Tech University before getting his master’s in vocational education from the University of Arkansas.
